Welcome to the Council of Volunteers and Organizations for Hoosiers with Disabilites

COVOH, Inc is saddened by the death of its original leader and volunteer for 30 years, Amy Cook-Lurvey.  Amy's vision to improve services for individuals with disabilites and their families along with her unending push for change will continue to impact us all for decades to come.  Thank you Amy.

------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Beginning in 1970, COVOH brought self-advocates, family members, and providers together to discuss the best ways to serve individuals with disabilites throughout the lifespan.

From committees to focus groups to conferences, COVOH supported the disability community by promoting communication and best practice.

Through COVOH's persistence, the outcomes of these conversations were used to positively affect systems change in Indiana.  COVOH tirelessly promoted the interests of people with disabilities while building capacity in current leaders, families, and individuals with disabilities.

It is hoped that these new leaders continue to stand for full participation, honest engagement, and unlimited opportunities for people with disabilities which can only come from strong partnerships between individuals with disabilities, families, schools, businesses, community members, and gonvernment entities.

As COVOH steps aside, the organization charges today's leaders, advocates, and dreamers with our mission.
